Dramatized NIV - Read it/Hear it GoBible app for iPhone and iPad

If you are a fan of the NIV Bible, this app is for you. Its far better then its iTunes counterpart because that one doesnt have Bible book and chapter references. Its broken into parts making it impossible to find Bible chapters. This app version has Bible books and chapters. It also has a 365 year reading plan. Even though I prefer the NIV over the NKJV, there is a much better done dramatized audio Bible out there called the Word of Promise NKJV dramatized Bible (it too is now an app). The reading and sound effects is much better in that one but takes up more room (4GB for best audio results). I give the NIV one a 8/10 and the NKJV one a 10/10. I own both and like both - but the better one is the Word of Promise NKJV dramatized audio Bible. Both offer a free gospel of John - so check them both out for yourself.

I absolutely love this application! It is such a joy to be able to hear and read along in Gods Word daily! The dramatization really bring the bible alive. We connect my iPhone to speakers and the children pull out there bibles and follow along, and best of all it takes less then 15 minutes per day and you will have heard and read the bible in one year! Thank you for this application just another tool to get me closer to God, and another day I can look forward to be challenge to change from within.

Sleeping? Working? Cooking? Too tired to concentrate? Then fire up this app and let Gods word sink into your mind. You dont realize how much time in your day goes to waste until entire letters from Paul are read to you on a short walk to the store. I like the dramatized version because it is less "monotone", and the different voices (for people speaking vs the narrator reading) and sound effects help you better understand what is going on when youre not following along on the screen. There are some flaws (can only start at the beginning of a chapter, not a verse; does not auto scroll; and I heard "end of disc 10" somewhere in the app), but if you prefer NIV over other versions, this app is easy to listen to and worth the money. There is a free KJV by another company, but I find the KJV hard to understand, and if Im listening instead of reading, my brain is probably not in a state where it can waste extra processing power trying to decipher the KJV

My kids and I really enjoy listening to this while on our way to school in the mornings. Its very enjoyable to listen to, not too over dramatized. I think its a much better listening experience acted out with multiple voices as opposed to just one persons voice. I really like that there is a one year reading plan, though I wish there were also other reading plans, for instance a 90 day reading plan. One thing that needs to be fixed in the app is that when the passages are read the highlights for the verses dont follow. The very first verse is highlighted, but the highlight doesnt move after that.

This is a great way to listen to the Bible!! Better than many audio Bibles Ive heard. There are different readers for different books. The voices are very expressive. Its easy to listen and hard to stop. I highly recommend it. Two things would make it better - 1) if the highlight would follow the reader and 2) if you could select it to start reading by verse. It can only start at the beginning of chapters.

I wish the text of Jesus words were in red. Great app other wise. Maybe they could add it in an update.

I love using this app to follow along with the bible. I also enjoy listening in my vehicle. However, the app does not allow you to pick up where you left off from previous reading. But all in all, its a great app. Highly recommended.

Everything is great except the highlighting should follow the narration as it progresses. Its hard to find which verse Im on if I take my eyes off the screen for a short moment.

I love this version of the dramatized Bible and have recommended and gifted it to several people. I was wanting to gift it again to my granddaughter who is 19 but was saddened to see that it is no longer offered in the NIV version. This version was more familiar to someone her age. I hope you will offer it again soon.
